Explorers are students ages 14 (in the 9th grade) to 20, who are interested in law enforcement careers or are looking to gain leadership and communication skills and/or are looking to become model citizens. They reside in Montgomery County, are in good physical and mental health, are subject to a background investigation and are enrolled in a high school, college, vocational or continuing education program.

Training is not only geared toward law enforcement, but also leadership and life skills.

Montgomery County Police Explorers meet every Wednesday, from 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm at the Public Safety Training Academy: 8751 Snouffer School Road | Montgomery Village, MD, 20879.

The program schedule adheres to the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) schedule and only meets when MCPS is in session.
