Explorers are students ages 14 (in the 9th grade) to 20, who are interested in law enforcement careers or are looking to gain leadership and communication skills and/or are looking to become model citizens. They reside in Montgomery County, are in good physical and mental health, are subject to a background investigation and are enrolled in a high school, college, vocational or continuing education program.
Training is not only geared toward law enforcement, but also leadership and life skills.

The program schedule adheres to the Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) schedule and only meets when MCPS is in session.
